Story

Raees (Shah Rukh Khan) is one of the most talented youngsters who gets attracted to the liquor trade in the dry state of Gujarat. He works for a popular liquor smuggler (Atul Kulkarni) during his early age after which he decides to step out starting on his own. Soon he becomes the talk of the state and SP Jaideep Ambalal Majmudar (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) keeps him in track. The rest of the film is how Raees attempts to play smart overcoming the tricks of Majmudar. Watch Raees to know about the rest.

The first half of Raees has been extremely perfect and starts off explaining the character of Raees. Each and everything has been taken huge care. The film shifts from action to romance and then to politics without any flaws which will sure entertain the audience of all the classes. The interval episodes make the film quite interesting and the songs have been shot extremely well. On the whole the first half is a package of perfect commercial drama.

The second half turns dull at parts and it dips down however the film picks up again at the much needed time. The dose of action reaches the peaks during the second half and the dialogues in the film have been well written and should be mentioned specially. Once again the songs have been extremely well shot and placed well. The climax looks dragged however the second half of Raees makes a perfect watch.

Performance :

Shah Rukh Khan has been extremely stupendous in the role of Raees. He excelled in the role especially in the emotional episodes. He has been romantic, fearless and ruggish throughout the film and delivered out his best. Mahira Khan has been limited completely and she even had no scope to perform. She has been decent in some of the episodes but emotionally poor. Nawazuddin Siddiqui once again steals the show with his stupendous performance throughout. He is fun to watch and is one of the highlights of the film. All the other actors have been decent.

The story of the film has been decent and the screenplay, dialogues have been penned well. The cinematography has been top notch and the erected sets reveal about the Gujarati culture. The songs and the background score are one of the major highlights of Raees. The production values looked extremely lavish and Rahul Dholakia has been extremely successful in carving out an out and out commercial entertainer.

Final Word

Raees is an out and out commercial entertainer that can be given a shot this weekend for the extremely stupendous performances of Shah Rukh Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

    Munna Michael Movie Review

Munna Micheal starts on an interesting note however the film loses the grip. Most of the episodes look fake and the characters have not been written well. The songs and the performances by the lead actors have been impressive and lot of time has been wasted for the major plot to be unveiled. There is no strong purpose, but Munna shifts his base to Delhi suddenly. On the whole the first half of Munna Micheal has been below the average line and makes no impact. The second half of Munna Micheal has been completely half baked and it makes no sense. The performances by the lead actors has been completely impressive but the rest of the movie is a huge misfire. The songs have been shot well and Niddhi has been presented in a glamorous way. The second half looks confused and clumsy. The climax looks like everyone in the film along with the audience have been lost. On the whole, Munna Micheal is a complete misfire in all the available ways.

Lipstick Under My Burkha Movie Review

Lipstick Under My Burkha is all about the lives of women who secretly try their dreams in this male dominated society. The first half has been sensible, mixed with humour and has a strong social message too. The characters have been well written and well presented on screen. With enough dose of entertainment, Lipstick Under My Burkha first half excels in all the available ways. Lipstick Under My Burkha even has an interesting second half and is all interesting throughout. The struggles faced by women have been well presented on screen and most of the Indian women will get related to the film for sure. The pre-climax episodes have been decent and the climax looks simple and short. On the whole, the second half of Lipstick Under My Burkha has been decent and thought provoking.

    Jagga Jasoos Movie Review

Jagga Jasoos is one film which has been impressive in each and every frame. Right from the start, Jagga Jasoos looks beautiful and presented well. However the movie looks dragged several times and the slow narration may not appeal to all the sections of the audience. However the brilliant performances along with the stupendous technical values makes Jagga Jasoos top notch. The perfect interval bang makes the first half engaging and entertaining. The second half of the film too has been slow in pace and has strong emotional episodes. Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif make the film connect emotionally with the audience because of their loud and subtle performances. The emotional bonding between a father and his son has been portrayed well on screen. The climax has been thoroughly entertaining and on the whole, the second half of Jagga Jasoos looks decent but it will sure not appeal to all the sections of audiences.

    Mom Movie Review

MOM starts on an interesting note and it is the gripping narration that drives the film. Some of the court episodes and the performances by the lead actors make the film convincing. Some of the emotional episodes are heart touching and they will sure make a massive impact. However on the flipside, the plot looks quite outdated and some of the episodes have been shot under the bar. The second half of MOM too has been interesting but it dips down at several parts. The crime scenes and the investigation episodes bring lot of interest among the audience. Some of the episodes in the second half turn predictable and the pre-climax episodes turn out interesting again. On the whole the second half of MOM has been ok and it should have been dealt better in many aspects.

    Tubelight Movie Review

The first half of Tubelight manages to build the characters of the film. The narration has been dead slow that it leaves the audience irritated. Though the film lacks interesting plot, Kabir Khan manages to narrate the film depending on the bonding between two brothers. Salman has been showcased in a never seen dull character which may not be digested by most of the audience and his fans. The first half of Tubelight offers nothing. The second half which is quite crucial too manages to stand dull and makes no impact all over. The songs look completely outdated and they test the patience of the audience. The unwanted characters kill the film’s flavour completely and Tubelight on the whole fails in all the available ways to impress the audience. With a routine and predictable climax, Tubelight second half is a massive disappointment.

    Bank Chor Movie Review

The first half of the film starts on a comic note however the film turns out to be a thriller soon after 20 minutes. The major disadvantage of the film is most of the episodes look fake and the movie has been completely dragged with a silly and simple line. Though Ritesh Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi try to impress the audience, this alone could not save the movie. The first half of Bank Chor leaves the audience in deep confusion if they can continue watching the second half. Bank Chor has enough scope for entertainment and suspense but it is the narration that slams the entire film. With the thieves relaxing in the banks and playing video games while the cops and CBI waiting outside the bank for hours will not go well with the audience. The pre-climax and the climax episodes kill the film completely and they look completely dragged. Each and every scene looks predictable. On the whole, the second half of Bank Chor makes the film fall flat.
