Kahaani 2 is all about Vidya Sinha (Vidya Balan) whose daughter gets kidnapped and before recovering from it, she meets with a massive car accident which pushes her into coma. Inderjeet Singh (Arjun Rampal) will be assigned the responsibility to investigate the case during which he comes to know that Vidya has an other side named Durga Rani Singh. Kahaani 2 is nothing less when it is compared to the first instalment. The story has been well blended and the entire first half of the film is a sure shot classic. One cannot predict any episode from the film and the entire first half of Kahaani 2 is completely intriguing. The technical aspects elevate the film well and one will sure get impressed for the content throughout the first half.
After an exceptional first half, one expects a gripping and stupendous second half which did not happen. However the film lives up the expectations. Vidya Balan tops the show with her incredible and flawless performance throughout the film. She excelled in both the assigned roles with utmost perfection. She is the major highlight of the film. Arjun Rampal has been completely natural and will steal the show. He has enough screen presence and is a perfect choice for the role. All the other actors came out with their best performances.
Sujoy Ghosh should be specially appreciated for his stupendous and honest efforts. The story of the film has been completely new and different. The execution strikes a chord that the audience will be left excited. The screenplay and the dialogues have been extremely well written. Right from the first frame, Begum Jaan misses the clarity throughout. The film has some realistic and stunning episodes that surprise the audience and it is Vidya Balan who tries hard to save the film but could not. Phillauri has an interesting story line and it has been well executed in parts. The movie turns quite interesting at times however it is the slow narration which spoils the feel throughout. The first half looks decent and it has some interesting episodes to get entertained. However a huge dip during the pre-interval episodes spoils the mood and on the whole the first half of Phillauri has been quite comfortable to be watched.After a decent first half, the second half fails to make that impact across the audience. It is Anushka Sharma who shines throughout the film and the visuals look extremely impressive. Trapped starts on an engaging and entertaining note with a cute love story and funny conversations between Shaurya and Noorie. The movie takes a major leap after the lead actor gets trapped in a building which is located in the heart of the city.
