The train snakes along the winding path..

Chennai Express review

Story :

Little did the 40-year-old Rahul know while boarding the Chennai Express that this trip would prove to be the most eventful journey of his life. Even in his wildest dreams he couldn't have possibly though that wooing the doe-eyed Meenamma on train in “Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge”style would land him up in deep mess. But what he deemed as the biggest mistake of his life, soon turns out to be life-changing for him. SRK revives ‘Rahul’ albeit in Rohit Shetty 'ishtyle'. It all starts after Rahul boards the Chennai Express where he meets Meenamma, the daughter of a powerful South don (Sathyaraj), who takes the train to flee from her imposing dad who wants marry her off to a villainous fiance whom she doesn't love (Nikitin Dheer). What unfolds next is a spate of uncanny but extremely funny situations that sees them fall in love in the most bizarre way.

Analysis :

Chennai Express-review

Chennai Express is an out and out entertainer, a cheeky masala fare that packs is loads of fun. Cashing in on the tried-and-tested mantra of love triumphing against all odds, Chennai Express offers colossal doses of fun. It leaves you guffawing, beaming, and jaws-dropped throughout. At no point, does the film lose its steam.

The action is terrific, especially towards the end. The power-packed duel between SRK and Nikitin gives the film a much-needed punch. The stunning cinematography deserves a standing ovation and Vishal-Shekhar's very, very massy number just adds the right amount of zing to the movie. The “lungi” song in the end adds as icing on the cake. Not to miss Sajid-Farhad's belly-bursting dialogues that never fails to tickle.

Performance :

Chennai Express-review

SRK shines on as Rahul, full of life, humor, emotion, action and humor. Rohit drags SRK out of his comfort “romantic” zone and gives his character a comic wash laced with mind-blowing action stunts. SRK is a total surprise here. Deepika Padukone is a revelation in the film. The actress has surely come a long way with Chennai Express. Her diction is so entertaining, it will leave you delightfully amused.

Sathyaraj as Deepika's authoritative father, puts forward a powerful act.. Nikitin Dheer's towering presence adds a lot of weight to the movie. He looks just every bit menacing in his 'Thangabali' avatar.

Final Word:

Chennai Express is yet another feather in Rohit Shetty's cap. The movie lives up to its colossal hype and hoopla.

Entertainment truly can't get bigger than Chennai Express. All the lovers of masala movies, board Chennai Express pronto!

  • Julie 2 Movie Review
    Julie 2 Movie Review

Julie 2 starts on a decent note but the film turns weird as it passes on. The levels of vulgarity has been injected into the film forcefully which makes the film look unnatural. The skin show of Raai Laxmi looks decent for some time but the audience get shattered for the unwanted glamorous attempts throughout. The director fails in all the available ways in narrating the dark facts with utmost perfection. The first half of Julie 2 has been dull and fails to live up the expectations. The second half of Julie 2 too offers nothing interesting. The entire film looks predictable, outdated and creates enough confusion. The director misses the clarity on his hold and the plot gets deviated several times. The songs have been ok but they don't match the film's mood. The climax has nothing much to offer as the entire plot has been unfolded before. The second half of Julie 2 is a sheer disappointment.

  • Ittefaq Movie Review
    Ittefaq Movie Review

The first half of Ittefaq has been well framed and is perfectly narrated. The film has been tight and racy right from the first shot and is a treat to watch. You will be deceived with each twist that comes in the film. The performaces need a bow and the entire first half has been extremely interesting. The second half too has been well maintained and is captured well. The director made sure that the film is not deviated at any frame and is equally thrilling and entertaining. The climax is hard hitting that one will be left boggled. On the whole Ittefaq is a film that should not be missed.

  • Golmaal Again Movie Review
    Golmaal Again Movie Review

Golmaal Again has been focussed mostly on entertainment which has been laced with horrifying episodes. The film is not a comedy unlike the previous installments of Golmaal and is laced with loads of horror. The songs have been shot well and the first half of Golmaal Again looks decent with enough dose of entertainment. The second half of Golmaal Again dips down though it has dose of entertainment. Some of the episodes have been repeated and have been taken from the previous installments. Some of the episodes fail to make any impact however the climax of the film has been thoroughly engaging. On the whole, the second half of Golmaal Again is a disappoinment but manages to sail finally.

  • Secret Superstar Movie Review
    Secret Superstar Movie Review

Secret Superstar starts on an interesting note and it explains all the small and interesting aspects of the lead characters. Before execution, Secret Superstar has been penned well and is perfectly presented on screen. The performances along with the background score and the way the film has been executed will blow everyone away. The entire first half frames up the film beautifully and makes a strong impact across the audience. The second half has been exceptional right from the first frame and is a treat to watch. Aamir Khan will be seen in an extended cameo and Zaira Wasim tops the show with her flawless and stupendous performance. The pre-climax episodes elevate the film and the climax has been hard hitting. Secret Superstar has a beautiful second half which conveys a strong message for every Indian.

    Judwaa 2 Movie Review

Judwaa 2 has been promising and entertaining right from the first frame. Varun Dhawan carried the entire film on his shoulders and he is a treat to watch. He excelled completely in the comic scenes and Judwaa 2 is his best film till date. Though the plot has been completely predictable, it is the entertainment, action and the songs which leave the audience entertaining. The first half of Judwaa 2 has been decent and lives up the expectations. The second half of Judwaa 2 too stands decent because of the entertainment levels. All the characters have been recreated from the original and not much homework has been done. The makers have been completely focused on the entertainment and the glamour. The songs have been shot well and they come at the right time in the film. The climax has been quite appealing and on the whole the second half too is a passable ride completely.
