Eminent Journalist and political commentator, theatre personality and editor of Thuglak, a satire magazine in Tamil, Cho Ramaswamy passed away. Cho has an incomparable role in the Tamil Nadu politics. His satires on the politics has won the hearts of many. The demise is a great loss to the media and the people of Tamil Nadu. He passed away on Wednesday at Apollo Hospital in Chennai, at the age of 82. He was a former BJP Rajya Sabha member.

Srinivasa Iyer Ramaswamy known as Cho Ramaswamy, born on 5 October 1934 was an actor, comedian, character actor, editor, political satirist, playwright and dialogue writer, film director and lawyer in Tamil Nadu. He was the founder and editor of the Tamil magazine, Thuglak.
Politicians such as J. B. Kripalani, Indira Gandhi, Karunanidhi, Chandra Shekhar, G. K. Moopanar, M. G. Ramachandran, Jayalalithaa, Ramakrishna Hegde, N. T. Rama Rao, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, L. K. Advani, Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh and P. Chidambaram have been some of the targets of his editorial attacks. He was widely considered to be an unbiased political analyst.
