In a recorded video message, killed terrorist Burhan Wani’s successor Hizbul Mujahideen commander Zakir Rashid Bhat has warned the police for harassing the family members of the terrorists and has also warned the informers.
In the video message, he has warned the police that family members of the police will be killed “if they continue to harass” relatives of militants in the Valley. “The informers need not be too happy. They should know they are working for the police, and police give their names to us in exchange for money,” says Bhat in the video, which shows him opening some files on his laptop titled “list of helpful persons/ informers with police station”. “I have advice for you. Leave the Valley or apologise in the mosques,” he says.
“You (police) have committed a big mistake by harassing our families, by involving our families,” he says in the video. “This was a fight between us and you have involved families in it,” he says in Urdu. “We are forgiving you, thinking that this is your first and last mistake,” he says. “We have families and you have families too. If you touch our families, we will not spare your families. Everybody has a family. You think your families are in Jammu so they are safe. Even if your families are in Kanyakumari, we have the capacity to kill them there”.
Bhat says: “Next time, think a thousand times before (attacking our families). And if you still do it, you will find the bodies of policemen in every lane and bylane of Kashmir.”
